Workshop
Three-dimensional Beaded Form Intensive
Intermediate to advanced skill levels are welcome.
In this fast-paced workshop, participants will refine and integrate the
off-loom bead weaving skills necessary to build three-dimensional beaded
vessels. NanC Meinhardt will teach circular brick stitch and review peyote
techniques increasing the student’s flexibility in switching from one
technique to another, in order to construct what the mind conceives. These
two techniques will be the building blocks for a small vessel. NanC will
demonstrate methods to wander with beads by building bridges across your
work offering opportunities to connect various parts of the vessel
together extending and changing the sculptural possibilities.
This intensive is technique-orientated, with NanC covering a lot of
material in a short amount of time. It is designed to appeal to those
participants with some familiarity with off-loom bead weaving. Motivated
by her own avid interest in the creative process, NanC will be using these
two days to solidify her student’s technical options and to explore their
personal creative process.
